Connecting Our Community Through Amateur Radio!
A New Digital Home for the Calexico Amateur Radio Society (CARS)
We are excited to welcome you to the new and improved K6CLX.org, the official website of the Calexico Amateur Radio Society (CARS)!
Our new website represents an important step forward in our mission to promote amateur radio, encourage technical education, support emergency communications, and bring together radio enthusiasts throughout Calexico, the Imperial Valley, and surrounding communities.
A Place for Amateur Radio Enthusiasts
Amateur radio is much more than a hobby. It is a community built on communication, friendship, experimentation, public service, and a shared passion for technology.
Whether you are a longtime licensed amateur radio operator, recently earned your first call sign, or are simply curious about ham radio, we want K6CLX.org to be a welcoming place to learn, connect, and participate.
What You’ll Find on Our Website
As we continue developing K6CLX.org, our goal is to provide useful information and resources, including:
- Club News and Announcements: Stay informed about meetings, activities, and upcoming events.
- Amateur Radio Education: Explore information about radio communications, equipment, operating practices, and technical experimentation.
- Licensing and Testing: Learn about opportunities to obtain or upgrade your amateur radio license through Volunteer Examiner (VE) testing.
- Repeaters and Local Communications: Find information about amateur radio communications in our region.
- Emergency Communications and Public Service: Discover how amateur radio operators can support their communities when reliable communication is essential.
- Community Activities: Follow local amateur radio events, special projects, and opportunities to connect with fellow operators.
Proudly Serving Calexico and the Imperial Valley
The Calexico Amateur Radio Society is proud of its connection to our local community and the unique border region we call home.
From the agricultural landscapes of the Imperial Valley to the communities of Calexico and Mexicali, amateur radio brings people together across distances, backgrounds, and borders.
We believe in sharing knowledge, encouraging new operators, and preserving the spirit of amateur radio for future generations.
